I just think about soldiers in WWII or Vietnam who were not even men yet, who had never tasted love, or kids that have never hit a homerun or scored a touchdown, and never will, or who had deadbeat parents who never showed them love, never enjoyed music, or drove on the backroads with friends, or took trips to the beach and felt and heard the ocean, or climbed beautiful mountains and saw the most beautiful scenery you could imagine, danced all night, many times. Camped and talked with my dad and brothers about life, and so much more, that I’ve done and experienced and so many others have never done. There is nothing for me to be sad about.
